House of Representatives returns from summer break to vote on state funding bill - by Bruce Tyson - Helium
House of Representatives returns from summer break to vote on state funding bill - by Bruce Tyson - Helium: "Ironically, the Democrat measure cuts food assistance to those living in poverty to fund the well-compensated unionized labor, suggesting that Democrat concern for union bosses trumps any compassion for the poor. At a time when food stamp recipients number higher than ever as Americans struggle to deal with the Obama depression, yanking food aid from them seems to give the Democrats a sort of “Anti-Robin Hood” air: take from the poor and give it to the rich. With more than $400 billion on the table, justifying taking food away from the disadvantaged to finance a bailout of seemingly overpaid unions does not seem right.

RIM will get burned with Blackberry TorchCell Phones: RIM will get burned with Blackberry Torch: "- Sent using Google Toolbar"
The extraordinary task set before the Blackberry Torch is daunting, so one would expect it to be a truly exceptional and revolutionary product. It’s not. It is a rehash of the same old Blackberry theme equipped with a disappointing low-res display and touch screen and a rugged, ultra thin keyboard. Much after the way Microsoft tossed social networking into its Kin flop, hoping to make it fly, RIM has done Torch. An integrated inbox and a revamped Web browser probably will prove insufficient to lure customers away from hi-def Android products like the Samsung Galaxy S or the HTC Evo.

Alvin Greene faces discrimination and Jim DeMint in Senate fight - by Bruce Tyson - Helium
South Carolina Democrat senate candidate Alvin M. Greene has more to fight against than his well-funded Republican opponent, Jim DeMint, as his campaign seeks to build mid-summer momentum: he has to fight people who probably should be his strongest supporters.

LeBrononomics: How income taxes factored into Lebron James decision - by Bruce Tyson - Helium
LeBrononomics: How income taxes factored into Lebron James decision - by Bruce Tyson - Helium
Dan Gilbert, owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers called the decision by LeBron James to sign with the Miami Heat a “cowardly decision.” Since when does hanging on to an extra $12 million to $25 million constitute cowardice? To financial analysts (and most likely to LeBron) the “no-brainer” decision to head for Florida makes good business sense.

A look at two political perspectives - by Bruce Tyson | The TIW Blog
A look at two political perspectives - by Bruce Tyson | The TIW Blog
Much of the Bible centers around this one doctrine: God sees everyone as the same. He does not consider the wealthy above the poor (or vice versa) and He does not consider the socially connected above the loner (or vice versa). Nothing about you makes you better than another and nothing about another makes them better than you. God cares about us equally, leaving every person on a level playing field when it comes to salvation, justice, mercy, companionship, or provision. Christians are expected to see each other in the same manner.
