Alvin Greene faces discrimination and Jim DeMint in Senate fight - by Bruce Tyson - Helium
South Carolina Democrat senate candidate Alvin M. Greene has more to fight against than his well-funded Republican opponent, Jim DeMint, as his campaign seeks to build mid-summer momentum: he has to fight people who probably should be his strongest supporters.

LeBrononomics: How income taxes factored into Lebron James decision - by Bruce Tyson - Helium
Dan Gilbert, owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers called the decision by LeBron James to sign with the Miami Heat a “cowardly decision.” Since when does hanging on to an extra $12 million to $25 million constitute cowardice? To financial analysts (and most likely to LeBron) the “no-brainer” decision to head for Florida makes good business sense.

A look at two political perspectives - by Bruce Tyson | The TIW Blog
A look at two political perspectives - by Bruce Tyson | The TIW Blog
Much of the Bible centers around this one doctrine: God sees everyone as the same. He does not consider the wealthy above the poor (or vice versa) and He does not consider the socially connected above the loner (or vice versa). Nothing about you makes you better than another and nothing about another makes them better than you. God cares about us equally, leaving every person on a level playing field when it comes to salvation, justice, mercy, companionship, or provision. Christians are expected to see each other in the same manner.

Lindsay Lohan sentenced to 90 days in jail - by Bruce Tyson - Helium
After showing incredible talent for avoiding responsibility for her reckless behavior, Lindsay Lohan is finally headed for jail. On probation for DUI, the troubled star skipped her court ordered counseling sessions and ended up before a judge weary of her shenanigans who sentenced her to 90 days for the probation violation. Also sentenced to inpatient rehabilitation after her release, many fans hope that Lohan will finally get her life in order, but news highlighted by media outlets that Lohan had an "F* U" message stenciled on her middle fingernail while in court may mean even more hot water for the disturbed princess.

Jessica Simpson brushes teeth, hooks up with Eric Johnson - by Bruce Tyson - Helium
Jessica Simpson said that she can find love anywhere; this time she has found it in the arms of former NFL star Eric Johnson, according to media reports. After a high profile case of getting dumped by quarterback Tony Romo, news has been sparse about any replacement male cohorts, giving lovelorn fans around the nation cause for hope. Too bad she only seems to like football players these days.

Save the World, Blog for Fun - Bruce Tyson
Every day Google searches seem to become more frustrating as results spew out hundreds of sites optimized for search engine optimization (SEO) but have no worthwhile content. Hundreds, even
thousands of sites out there exist only to attract clicks from Google to generate advertising impressions and clicks. Have you ever worked through search results and found site after site filled with grammatically incorrect paragraphs that mention the topic for which you have searched, but actually say nothing substantive about it? Have you seen one site after another serve up identical content? Why not try blogging for fun?

As violence stemming from drug running and human trafficking escalates in the border states, Obama took the puzzling measure of stopping southbound trains going into Mexico for inspection, implying that the United States is the source of the border problem, not Mexico.

If this sounds like déjà vu, you are correct. In 2007, President Bush launched a major initiative very similar to the one now at hand that many Americans branded “amnesty” because it rewarded those who broke American law with citizenship and took no action to solve the growing problems on the American border with Mexico. In the midst of overwhelming public opposition to the concept, the measure called “immigration reform” died – or so we thought.

More troubles came upon Apple customers this past week after Apple iTunes was seemingly hacked, compromising user accounts. Although the degree of this latest compromise of Apple customer data is unclear, customers should cautiously eye their accounts for suspicious activity.

Thomas Jefferson illustrated the challenge of the American paradigm shift when he mistakenly called Americans “subjects,” in a recently discovered “typo” found corrected in a preliminary version of the Declaration of Independence. The mindset change from that of tyranny to that of liberty took some getting used to.

Police in Portland, Oregon reopened the “crazed sex poodle” case in which Al Gore allegedly aggressively pursued a sexual encounter with a masseuse in his upscale hotel room. Police have declined to give a detailed explanation as to why the case was reopened, although recent media attention may have had a role.
